COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS AND WORKSHOPS
Each year our counselors provide hundreds of presentations and workshops at
local schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations such as the
YWCA, United Way, UAW locals, Area Agency on Aging, Junior Achievement,
Gambler's Anonymous, Michigan Works, etc.

GreenPath workshops include:

The American Dream A homebuyer education program that teaches people how
to budget and shop for a home, secure and close a loan, and efficiently care
for a home.

Understanding Your Credit Report Teaches people how to read and
understand their credit report, understand how credit scores are used and how
they can be improved, etc.

New Directions - Surviving a Layoff or Job Change Teaches people steps
they can take to regroup, reevaluate, and plan for the future after a layoff or
job loss.

Steps to Financial Freedom Setting goals, communicating with family
members, creating a budget, building savings, reducing debt, evaluating
insurance and buying a home are covered in this workshop.

Saving to Achieve Your Goals Helps people learn skills for budgeting,
developing a plan and saving for future goals and unexpected expenses.

Kids and Money Students learn about credit, how to use it, how to
determine the cost of credit, how to manage a budget, and the importance of
credit reports.

College Bound Geared toward students entering college, this course
covers setting goals and creating a budget, calculating college costs, choosing
a college funding option, and building a good credit history.

Identity Theft Helps people understand what identity theft is, how
thieves obtain and use personal information, how to protect yourself and what
to do if you are a victim.
