GreenPath Memberships, Partnerships and Accreditation
National Foundation for Credit Counseling
GreenPath is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). Member affiliation signifies adherence to standards that include agency accreditation, counselor certification and policies that ensure confidential, low-cost, high-quality service.
Council on Accreditation
GreenPath is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), an independent, not-for-profit organization. COA standards are the most rigorous and demanding in the industry. The COA’s accreditation process examines personnel qualifications, ethical responsibility, financial management and quality of services and:
- Identifies organizations in which consumers can have confidence
- Ensures that organizations continue to improve the quality of their services
- Ensures that organizations meet critical measurement and reporting requirements
- Demonstrates accountability in the management of resources
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
GreenPath’s housing counseling services are approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). While HUD’s mission is a decent, safe and sanitary home and suitable living environment for every American, it — like GreenPath — is very active in efforts to help prevent foreclosures and protect consumers from predatory lending practices.
Executive Office for U.S. Trustees
With the passing of the bankruptcy reform legislation in Oct. 2005, GreenPath became one of the first organizations approved by the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees to provide both pre-bankruptcy counseling and pre-discharge education as required by the new law.
Better Business Bureau
GreenPath is a member of the Better Business Bureau, adhering to principles including fair resolution of disputes through voluntary self-regulation and consumer education, business reliability and truth in advertising.
