GreenPath Celebrates Winners of Financial Literacy Month Poster Contest
Winners of local contest make top honors at national competition

(FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – April 8, 2010)GreenPath Debt Solutions recently invited elementary through high school students from across the country to participate in the nationwide “BE MONEY WI$E” poster contest sponsored by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). This year GreenPath received more than 300 poster entries around the theme of $mart Money Choices = A Brighter Future.

GreenPath invited a panel of judges representing area media, city government and GreenPath educators, to rank the top posters in each grade category (elementary, middle and high school) whose artwork best represented this year’s theme. Judging was based on expression of theme, artistic style and creativity. The top winners are listed below.

• Elementary School: Lydia Chen, fourth grade, Bee Meadow School, Whippany, New Jersey
• Middle School: Daniel Carr, eighth grade, home school, Tampa, Florida
• High School: Dylan Bozic, ninth grade, Stuarts Draft High School, Crimora, Virginia

The winning posters were entered in the national competition and all three were recognized by the NFCC in their grade category: Chen and Carr received first place and Bozic was named runner-up. The national grade category winners will receive a $100 savings bond and an awards plaque. As local winners, these students will receive a $100 savings bond and a $50 gift card to a local bookstore, courtesy of GreenPath Debt Solutions.

The NFCC’s “BE MONEY WI$E” poster contest engages students in thinking about how to manage money effectively and offers them a creative outlet to express their knowledge.
