GreenPath Named 2009 Crain’s Detroit Business Best Managed Non Profit Finalist
(FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – November 17, 2009) — GreenPath Debt Solutions was recently named the 2009 Best Managed Non Profit Finalist by Crain’s Detroit Business. GreenPath was evaluated by Crain’s for the company’s quick response to the rapid rise in unemployment and home foreclosures since 2008.
In order to meet the increased demand for mortgage delinquency counseling services, GreenPath hired additional counselors, reallocated existing counseling resources and trained more than 100 of its counselors on the new housing regulations and related government programs. GreenPath also automated its information technology system so the company could serve a higher volume of consumers.
“We are honored to be a finalist alongside such a distinguished group of non-profits,” said Jane McNamara, president and CEO of GreenPath Debt Solutions. “There is nothing more satisfying than knowing our efforts are making a difference in this trying economy,” she continued.
The selection of finalists was based on criteria such as: finding ways to do more with less, collaborative efforts and cost-sharing strategies, and modifications in programming that has resulted in the organization being better-able to meet the needs of its service recipients.
In addition to GreenPath, other finalists included: ArtServe Michigan, The Michigan Humane Society and United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Adult Well-Being Services was runner-up and Detroit Public Television (WTVS Channel 56) was named best managed non-profit. The winning non-profits were profiled in the November 16 edition of Crain's Detroit Business and will be featured during the Crain's Newsmaker of the Year luncheon early next year.
