LOCAL CREDIT COUNSELING ORGANIZATION CHANGES ITS CORPORATE NAME TO GREENPATH, INC.
The company will do business as GreenPath Debt Solutions.
January 30, 2002, Farmington Hills, Mich. - With more than 40 years of service, Credit Counseling Centers, Inc. (CCC) recently changed its name to GreenPath, Inc. in order to better identify the organization's services.
The Farmington Hills, MI-based credit counseling service is a non-profit organization that provides free counseling and low-cost debt management programs to people experiencing financial difficulties while promoting sound money management skills.
CCC also operated under the names Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Michigan, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern New York and Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northwest Illinois. The company's 40 offices in Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, Illinois, New Jersey and Arizona are now united under one operating name of GreenPath Debt Solutions (GreenPath).
"We want to ensure that our organization stands out from other credit counseling services in our industry," said Jane McNamara, GreenPath president and CEO. "Unlike many others, we offer full-service credit counseling that includes help with all types of debt and gives our clients the option of face-to-face or over-the-phone consultation."
With approximately 180 employees, GreenPath currently serves more than 21,000 clients. The clients begin a debt management program with an average total debt of $26,000 and an average of 10 creditors.

All GreenPath counselors have college degrees, passed applicable state-administered exams, are certified by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and completed an intensive training before working with customers.
