Detroiters Will Learn About Homeownership

Farmington Hills, Mich., (October 13, 2017)…Those looking to buy a home in Detroit will get free homeownership advice and education, and learn about available housing in different neighborhoods, at a free event October 21, at the Rusas Printing Building in Detroit. Detroiters Will learn about homeownership and the pre-purchase process.

“It’s a great time to buy a home in Detroit and surrounding neighborhoods,” said David Berenbaum, CEO of the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, a GreenPath Financial Wellness strategic affiliate. “This event will help those who are thinking about buying a home, but who need a little advice to help them make that decision.”

The event will feature a marketplace including home advisors, lenders, realtors, and financial education organizations. Attendees can learn about:

  • Neighborhoods and home inventory in Detroit
  • How to make your credit score ready for home buying
  • The importance of home inspection and how it works
  • How to navigate down payment assistance
  • Lending options for mortgages
