(FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – April 11, 2016) — GreenPath Financial Wellness, a nationwide, financial counseling and education non-profit organization, with headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, announced today that Kristen Holt has been named its new president and CEO.

“Kristen brings to GreenPath a unique and diverse background of over 20 years of international, national and local leadership experience, in both commercial and non-profit businesses,” said GreenPath board chair, Jane Sydlowski.

Holt was most recently chief operating officer for United Way for Southeastern Michigan.  Prior to United Way, Kristen served at NSF International, a global non-profit based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as chief financial officer among other executive roles.

“During the CEO search process, the board was impressed by Kristen’s passion for our mission, her energy and creative ideas, and her proven experience in growing businesses,” said Sydlowski. “We now move into a promising future, building upon the amazing efforts established by GreenPath’s leadership team and more than 400 employees across the country.”

Holt holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan and earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting major from Central Michigan University.  She received the Athena Award in 2011, recognized for her professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in advancing their leadership and careers.
GreenPath Financial Wellness recently announced a name change from GreenPath Debt Solutions. The transition is based on its long-term commitment to guide all consumers through life’s financial challenges, not just those in debt.

“Our new focus on Financial Wellness better represents the full impact we have on individuals and the communities we serve,” said Donna McNeill, GreenPath chief operating officer.  “ We don’t just help people manage debt.  We empower them to reduce stress, stop living paycheck to paycheck, and take control of their financial future.”

GreenPath’s goal is to become the financial health partner that consumers turn to through all phases of their lives.

GreenPath offers face-to-face services, including a free personal finance counseling session, at about 60 offices in 16 states.  The company also offers licensed services by phone and Internet throughout the United States.
